Private

Some treatment options are not available on the NHS.

For example: tooth coloured (composite) fillings on back teeth.

Being treated on a private basis allows your dentist to spend more time on each visit and to use the best possible materials and equipment.

Other treatments this applies to are:

- Inlays (lab-made fillings). If a dental cavity is too extensive for a tooth coloured filling to be placed, then the provision of an inlay may be advised. Often made of ceramic and bonded to the tooth, inlays are generally considered to be much longer lasting.

- Flexi Dentures. These dentures can, in most cases, replace the smaller NHS "plastic" (PMMA) denture and wrap around the bordering teeth to provide better retention.

- Air polishing. This process applies a jet of air, water and powder to the surface of your teeth, gently removing day to day staining from tobacco, tea, coffee etc. Restoring your teeth to their natural brightness and shine!
